Tom Laurich
Tom Laurich (born 24 July 1980) is a former Australian Olympic and national representative rower from the Mosman Rowing Club. Since 2011 he has been an elite development rowing coach at Mosman and for Australian representative squads. ==Rowing career== Laurich first represented at the national level in sculling. He was a medallist in the single scull at World Junior championships, a member of the Senior quad scull at the 2001 World championships, the Sydney Olympics single scull trialist, and national double scull champion with Mosman's Peter Hardcastle.〔http://www.mosmanrowing.com/news/38-mosman-athletes-selected-to-australian-squad.html Mosman rowing news〕 He then shifted to sweep rowing and was in the coxed pair that won the Australian men's team their only medal in the Seville World Championships in 2003. Laurich represented Australia at the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics in the men's four. His crew of David Dennis, Robert Jahrling, and David McGowan, recorded a time of 6.13.06 in the finals, which gave them a fourth-place finish. He gained a place in the Australian men's eight at world championships in 2006 and 2007 〔 and in the 2008 Beijing Olympics he rowed in the four seat of the men's eight.
